Handling Challenging Behaviors by Building Resiliency Virtual Training
This training will cover an overview of behaviors, resiliency, and strategies to use in the classroom to assist with decreasing challenging behaviors. After discussing common challenging behaviors that take place in early childhood classrooms, participants will have the opportunity to participate in group discussions about strategies to support those children and the classroom. These topics will lead to deeper learning on how identifying behaviors and using effective and consistent strategies will foster connections and lead to regulation and resiliency. Participants will: 1) Define challenging behaviors, where they can come from, and their purposes; 2) Understand resiliency and describe how to build it; and 3) Learn specific positive behavior strategies to prevent, replace, and change the response to decrease challenging behaviors in the classroom. The early childhood classroom is a unique space and teachers who work with small children are faced with unique challenges. This training focuses on specific special needs and behaviors that teachers are often faced within the early childhood space. The content is geared towards children from birth to age 5 but can be utilized by teachers of school-age children as well.
