British Council Parent Workshop - Words, words, words! How to help your child expand their active English vocabulary

Most teens can recognise many more words ('passive' vocabulary) than they regularly use in their written and spoken English ('active' vocabulary). Therefore, their speaking and writing can seem overly simple or lower level. This session will look at why that happens and presents some ideas and activities to change the situation, to support your teen in being able to use a wide range of English to express themselves more fully in different situations.
