Seabirds are a fascinating group of birds, from their unique adaptations to harsh ocean conditions to their incredible diversity throughout the world. Seabirds can be elusive during a majority of their life over the open ocean, thus making them difficult to study. However, technology is opening the door to their life over open water. We will explore some of the new information collected on seabirds through GPS systems. We will also look at some of the more unusual seabirds around the globe and their fascinating behaviors. Finally, we will meet some of our local Florida seabirds and discuss what is being done to provide for their conservation.
