The Task Force on Supporting Gender Non-Binary Individuals in the Legal Profession looks forward to continuing the Let’s Talk Nonbinary series on Thursday, September 9 at 10am PT / 1pm ET with a discussion of Season 1 Episode 6 of “PRIDE,” the last episode of a six-part documentary series chronicling the struggle for LGBTQ+ civil rights in America from the 1950s through the 2000s. Episode 6, entitled “2000s: Y2Gay,” focuses on the 2000s, which ushered in a new age of queer visibility where gays and lesbians were gaining acceptance in the mainstream media. But even as cisgender white members of the LGBTQ+ community found a place in society, the struggle for trans rights continued, and that fight has only in the present day taken the main stage. The episode is 47 min. and is available on Hulu.
Following a brief introduction, participants will engage in moderated small discussion groups in Zoom breakout rooms to gain greater understanding by sharing insights and experiences. The session will not be recorded and is designed to help NALP members learn how to better support non-binary and transgender individuals in the legal profession.
Stay tuned for further details as the series continues on Wednesday, October 6 (3pm ET) and Wednesday, November 10 (2pm ET).
