Building Vaccine Confidence & Promoting Health Literacy
The CDC has just recommended the first COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 through 11. Routine and recommended childhood vaccines, like the COVID-19 vaccine, protect young people from serious and life-threatening diseases. Pfizer’s data showed the vaccine is safe and 90 percent effective in preventing COVID-19 infections in this age group.

As Hawai‘i rolls out their keiki vaccination campaign, we encourage afterschool, education, and community leaders, as well as anyone who wants to become a more confident ambassador for health literacy and vaccine confidence to join us for a talk story with the Hawai‘i Department of Health. We’ll learn more about COVID-19 vaccinations for keiki and answer your questions. This session covers:
- Accessible talking points for common questions and persistent misinformation
- Strategies for empathetic and impactful engagement
- Social media hygiene and critical media literacy

*Please note that we will be recording this webinar to be made available on our website. If you do not wish to be recorded, please feel free to turn your camera off.
