NY ALCA Mastering the Maze of Private Home Care

Care Managers are often asked to source private caregivers for their clients as they want task flexibility, live in care and travel options. Sometimes care managers can be asked to facilitate illegal payments. This presentation educates care managers on how to legally and ethically guide clients in correct legal private hiring. It will also discuss the major differences with using agencies vs. employing privately and the different cost expectations tied to this decision. The goal of the presentation is to help families select the best appropriate model of care for specific circumstances.
