Grammar Clinic: Learn The Rules Before You Break Them!

Writing is an art, just like painting. Good grammar is the paint. It helps add clarity, shape, and dimension to our creations. But just like the blank page, it can seem intimidating. In this 90 minute workshop, we'll take a look at common grammar mistakes and how to fix them. Join Michele Thomas to learn tips and tricks to improve your writing and get your questions answered!

A NYC native and GWN mentor alumna, Michele has edited textbooks and teaching materials in Science, Math, Reading, and has taught grammar and essay writing in the Saturday Writing Class program at Legal Outreach. As the former executive editor for the International Culinary Center, she has also taught workshops in recipe writing, and has edited textbooks in French, Italian, and Spanish cooking, Pastry Arts, Bread Baking, and Wine Studies. She is the co-author of Culinary Careers for Dummies (Wiley) with Annette Tomei and Tracey Biscontini, the author of Sodium, and Oxygen, two science books for children, and is currently pursuing an MFA in nonfiction at St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, where she lives with her tiny feline overlords, Mimzy and Pickles.
