Ana Mims P'24 started and led the global Diversity and Inclusion department for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, involving 150,000 employees across over 90 properties worldwide. As head of Diversity, she was responsible for diversity training and coaching, and was involved with everything from boycotts, lawsuits and employee complaints to the company's relationship with the NAACP. She and her team went on to build an award-winning practice both for employees and the company. Mrs. Mims has also served as the Executive Director of the Martin Luther King Center, reporting to the Board of Directors which at the time included Coretta Scott King, Julian Bond, and Andrew Young. She has spoken nationally on the topic of Diversity and inclusion and understands how delicate these matters are for any organization's reputation. She has also led corporate communications, branding, reputation, and crisis management globally for S&P 500 companies.
