Social justice and diversity are a central part of the current discourses surrounding equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). Social justice processes address systems and structures of discrimination and exclusion at the organizational and employee levels. This workshop will address the systemic and structural barriers that result in workplace discrimination. Social justice theories will be used to analyze how to address these barriers in order to understand the ways in which they can be deconstructed. Participants will be given a model by which they can analyze these barriers in their own workplaces and/or in the work with their clientele. The goal of the workshop is for participants to gain an understanding how social justice and diversity can be applied at the organizational and individual levels to increase equity, diversity and inclusion while simultaneously reducing systemic and structural barriers.
