We’re Back in Person, Now What – Program Check-in using a Trauma Informed Lens
Distance Learning Description: During this training, we will create a plan of action through interactive activities, self-reporting, and open discussions. The first half of the training will consist of staff check-in, using a trauma informed lens, to ensure that staff feel supported and have tools for ongoing programming. The second half will discuss ways to incorporate the five principles of Trauma Informed Care. By the end of training, all staff will have expressed concerns, shared best practices to navigate being back in-person, while creating a trauma informed environment using the following five principles:
1. Review safety
2. Create Trustworthiness for staff and youth
3. Providing trauma-informed choices when creating the environment
4. Incorporating empowerment now that we’re in-person versus zoom
5. Provide a collaboration for both youth and family
