Dr. Deming’s Red Bead Experiment simulation will be used in an interactive demonstration “beyond the beads”. Excerpts from a session the author ran at Hanford Washington will be used to set the scene. Together, we will determine if the process is capable of achieving business goals. We will set in place various improvements and determine their effects. Using a color-coded SPC dashboard, we will track and display results of various actions on the simulated process. During the session, we will develop “leading indicators” to understand employee engagement and implementation of improvement actions.
