To celebrate world compassion day on Monday 28 November, CMHL are offering a 1 hour webinar with Dr Debbie Ling about Compassion Training for health care workers.
"Compassion training improves the wellbeing of workers and helps protect against empathic distress and burnout. Understanding the difference between compassion and empathy is essential for worker resilience."
The session will also include a 30 minute Q&A Opportunity with Debbie following the webinar.
Presenter: Dr Debbie Ling
Debbie is a Lecturer in the Department of Social Work, Monash University and key contributor to the Monash Centre for Consciousness and Contemplative Studies. Debbie is also an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow with the Epworth Monash Rehabilitation Medicine Unit.
Debbie’s research expertise is in common humanity and compassion. Debbie, Craig Hassed and Richard Chambers developed the Monash “Compassion Training for Healthcare Workers” online course which has had hundreds of healthcare workers complete it.
Debbie sits on the Australian Compassion Council, Charter for Compassion Australia. Debbie is also a social worker at Epworth HealthCare and Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
