CLIMATE MATTERS! Youth Climate Emotions and Actions
This session will have an outstanding panel on the topic of youth climate emotions and actions. We expect it to be of special interest to youth, teachers, parents and social workers who serve youth in particular.

Joining us will be Madison Dyck, one of the seven youth who have taken the Province of Ontario to court because Premier Ford's negligent climate action plan violates their Charter Rights to life, security, health, and equality. So far they have won against two provincial government challenges to have their case thrown out of court, and in mid-September the actual evidence of their case was heard in the Ontario Supreme Court.

Accompanying Madison Dyck will be one of the youth plaintiffs' lawyers from Ecojustice, a charitable environmental public interest law organization. Their lawyer will be on hand to answer questions about the status of the case. A decision is expected anytime now from the Ontario Supreme Court.

ALSO on deck will be Dr. Ellen Fields from Lakehead University. She has coauthored a research paper that explores what 1000 Canadian youth are feeling about the climate emergency. After presenting her findings, she will stay around for a brief Q&A.

As you can see, this is a fascinating, newsworthy, timely, and packed session! There will also be an update on what we are organizing, and what we are trying to inspire YOU and others to create and organize, for Earth Day 2023.
