We are excited to introduce you to the stories and people behind our favorite artisanal Japanese beverages. Join Jamie Graves of Skurnik Wines & Spirits as he leads a weekly tasting and discussion of different sake makers.
A rare chance to look inside one of leading sake makers in the world! We’ll be streaming a live tour of Niizawa Brewery, meet Iwao Niizawa and the energetic award winning young team he has put together. In addition to crafting Hakurakusei, the “ultimate food sake” served at Japan’s best restaurants, they pioneered the highly polished “Zankyo Super 7” sake made from rice at just 7% of its original size. We’ll be catching them at the very end of the brewing season as they finish their last few batches of sake and prepare for "koshiki-taoshi”, “turning over the steamer”, the official closing of the brewing year.
*Note: Sake keeps its flavor for up to two weeks if you refrigerate after opening, so there’s plenty of time to savor what you open!
