Building a Business Case for Diversity: Does Diversity Really Pay?
We are keenly aware that diversity is a change agent, but how do we make the business case for systemic change? This 60-minute interactive workshop will have nonprofit board members and executive leadership feeling equipped to show the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion through promising techniques that are sure to lead the change they seek.
In this presentation participants will:
•Understand how diversity affects business performance
•Understand the value of diversity’s impact on innovation
•Learn to recognize the value of new markets and streams of revenue through diversity
•Build a toolkit that helps to understand and acknowledge how to create a more inclusive community for all
About the Expert:
Patrice M. Palmer (they/them/theirs) hails from both the Sea Islands of South Carolina & Detroit, Michigan. Patrice is an award winning DEI advocate, motivational speaker and DEI strategist. Working in both academia as an adjunct professor of Organizational Leadership and the inaugural Director of Social & Cultural Inclusion for the College of Business at Colorado State University, Patrice has also brought their talents to the U.S. craft beer industry where they are the inaugural DEI Specialist for New Belgium Brewing Company; the 4th largest brewing company in the U.S. Voted in 2020 as one of the Most Important Voices in craft beer by Hop Culture Magazine, Patrice has appeared on numerous podcasts, panels and other media speaking about intersectional leadership and workplace inclusion. As a United States Fellow of the RSA of London, Patrice’s passion has taken them internationally working with major agencies around the world in creating inclusive workplace cultures. From domestic to international and from non profit to Fortune 500 companies; Patrice approaches each coaching session with a single goal of improving the workplace experience for ALL.
