Please join us for our next edition of the Lunchtime Speaker Series featuring business executive, philanthropist, and Maccabi USA alum, Alan Appelbaum. Alan is a recognized authority on municipal bonds, specializing exclusively in this market for over 40 years. Throughout his career, Alan has authored numerous articles and appeared on television and radio programs to share is expertise in the municipal bond field.
As a self-described golf fanatic, Alan created the A.F. Best Securities Foundation, benefitting children’s hospitals and medical research charities. The Foundation ran an annual charity golf tournament for 25 years, raising over $4 million for the cures of life-threatening childhood diseases. In addition, Alan has also served on the Boards of Duke University Children’s Hospital, the Honda Classic, the Ben Appelbaum Foundation, the Bayonne Jewish Community Center, and the Caves Valley Golf Club.
Alan serves on the Board of Directors for Maccabi USA and is a donor to the Endowment Fund of Maccabi USA. He is a seven-time alum, having competed in Golf at the 2006 Maccabi Australia Games, the 10th-12th Pan American Maccabi Games, and the 15th, 17th, and 18th Maccabiot. Alan has also participated 8 times in the Transatlantic Cup which is a golf competition with Great Britain. In addition, Alan has been a supporter and participant in our annual Florida golf tournament for the past 20 years.
