As demands on our organizations grow and the community issues we work to solve become increasingly complex, the strength of our governance structures must increase as well. The pandemic has brought on further pressures, challenging the ways nonprofit leaders work together and calling for strong decision-making in the face of perpetual uncertainty.
Now more than ever, community stakeholders are relying on engaged, competent leadership to ensure the continuity and vitality of our sector. This workshop builds upon the concepts in our foundational Principles of Governance workshop to address some of the more advanced challenges of nonprofit governance.
Participants will come away from this workshop with:
• Ideas for building a board culture that creates space for strategic and generative thinking
• Awareness of common issues in nonprofit boards and strategies for addressing them
• How to build resiliency with plans for board and senior executive succession
• An understanding of the board’s role as agents of change within and outside of the organization
*Note that this meeting will be recorded and the recording distributed to registrants.
