We invite IEN members to connect in open dialogue to explore how community impact investing might help address racial inequity; how endowments can support equitable economic development by investing in their own communities and communities of color around the country and the world; how endowment investing fits with higher education’s role as anchor institutions in their communities
We offer these resources to ground the conversation:

Potential discussion questions:
i. How do you define the community(ies) in which your institution/organization operates? How does racial inequality show up in your community?
ii. How could your investment strategy address racial inequity in your community?
iii. How could community impact investing strategies more broadly (even beyond where you operate) address racial inequity and align with your institutional mission?
IEN Community Conversations are designed as an opportunity for informal, open online conversations amongst leaders in our field, to build community and strengthen connections within our peer network; as with all of our events, the Chatham House Rule applies.
Over the coming months we are curating a set of Community Conversations to spend time together (online) reflecting on the renewed sense of urgency and momentum that we are feeling around racial justice in our work, our institutions, and our communities. Additional conversations will take place on June 25th and July 7th.
