FCBA Book Group on Technology in Fiction presented by the Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Robotics Committee
The FCBA’s Ad Hoc Committee on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Robotics will host the inaugural meeting of the FCBA Book Group.
At this first meeting, we will be discussing Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel “Klara and the Sun,” which explores the role of AI in shaping humanity’s future and the ways in which AI can and cannot provide a substitute for true human connection. Klara and the Sun is the first novel Ishiguro has published since winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2017, and his skills as both a prose stylist and a social commentator are on full display here. The book is available in hardcover, ebook, and audio formats. (If you cannot make this session but would like to participate in future meetings, that’s no problem at all; you can join us any time.)
Please be aware that the session will be recorded and may be edited for release online in video or podcast form.
