FEBRUARY 10-MARCH 17 (6 WEEKS)
Learn how to listen for harmonies and how to find parts on your own. We'll work through exercises and songs, and give you a road map to help you find your harmonic way. The group is designed for beginners: being able to sing the scale (do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti-do) is your only prerequisite.
We can't sing songs together as a group on Zoom, but you'll get lots of practice in different ways! We WILL be somewhat interactive, so you must have the latest version of the Zoom software, headphones, and preferably the ability to join via a laptop or desktop computer (but if you only have a tablet or phone, we'll make it work).
Payment can be made by e-transfer, paypal, or by cheque. Instructions will be provided in your registration confirmation email.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Jane Lewis has been leading vocal groups since 2008, from "finding your voice" and "how to sing harmony by ear" workshops to various choirs and community singing events. A singer-songwriter, she performs as a solo artist and with the folk duo Gathering Sparks, nominated for a 2014 Canadian Folk Music Award for Vocal Group of the Year. Jane has released two recordings of original music, and two recordings with Gathering Sparks. Singing harmony remains her favourite thing to do and teach.
