2021 Camp KARATer
Camp KARAter, a SKIP Inc., Summer Camp Character Education Program for Teens ages 12 - 16 is a fun-filled summer camp character education program designed to help teen participants with life through a structured program fostering self esteem, providing role models and influencing positive choices. The goal is to instill positive character traits in the youths while building constructive minds.

Participants will gain a new perspective on life while building character and leadership skills in a nurturing and safe environment. The program empowers participants and points them on the path to become productive citizens.

This year's special guest is Asya Branch, Miss USA 2020. Asya will share her life story and her work as an advocate to support children of incarcerated parents. Asya Branch was crowned Miss USA 2020 and made history as the first Black Miss Mississippi, and the first Miss Mississippi to win the crown. Asya attended the University of Mississippi where she pursued a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in General Business; and has plans to embark in a career in public relations management or sports entertainment.

Asya’s father was incarcerated when she was young, and ever since, she has been promoting her passion for criminal justice reform and working to see legislation pass at the city, state, and federal levels. Having a strong mentality has allowed her to be a life coach and trendsetter without second guessing herself. Asya is a proud owner of a growing cosmetic brand, the 6th of 8 siblings, and she strives every day to set an example for everyone she encounters.
