The session will be an overall introduction to Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. It will explore the use of long and short acting insulin. The presentation will look at side effects from psychotropic medication and the importance of metabolic monitoring, the relationship between diabetes and illicit substance use and the relationship between diabetes and eating disorders.

Lin has been a mental health nurse in the public sector for 8 years, largely in acute Child and Youth Services. She is currently a Clinical Nurse Educator.
Lin has a Masters in Nursing Science, Postgraduate in Mental Health Nursing and a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Healthcare.
Lin is passionate about training, education and positive consumer outcomes in acute mental health settings. She utilises her advanced theoretical knowledge, sound clinical skills and her lived experience with Diabetes type 2, to ensure her delivery of training is holistic and contemporary, particularly regarding the physical health needs of our consumers.
