Inspired by Islamic Art 4, with Ayesha Gamiet. Session 1: Fabulous Flowers
We are delighted to announce a new programme of our popular Inspired by Islamic Art workshops. Launched last year, these artist-led courses have now been attended virtually by hundreds of people around the world and are fully established as part of our work sharing and celebrating the Islamic Art collections at Leighton House.

This new series of four workshops, Garden of Paradise, is led by acclaimed painter and illustrator Ayesha Gamiet and will study and take inspiration from the intricate design and vibrant palette of a Syrian tile panel ca.1600 to be found in an upstairs alcove in Leighton House and a glittering mosaic frieze by Walter Crane, which encircles the magical hall downstairs. The programme is moderated by ceramicist and illustrator Laurelie Rae.

Session 1: Fabulous Flowers
Join us in creating your very own fantastical garden of paradise! In this workshop we will explore the real and imagined flowers that adorn the tiles in Leighton House. In doing so we will create a lush and colourful habitat for the brilliant birds landing in our composition next week.
