Conversations in Community: Race Matters for Black LGBT People
This will be a space for Black LGBT community members to come together to share how we approach the burden of racism in this country and in our own lives. This moment of widespread protests against police brutality is particularly challenging for Black LGBT people who have a unique perspective on civil rights along with enduring personal and intergenerational experiences of racial trauma. These sessions will be an opportunity to step back from the activism, so that we can get perspective, support each other and find or recharge resilience tools. The space will be facilitated by Lorenzo Taylor, a Center activity facilitator and member of Brothers of the Desert.
