The CAIS School Innovation Grants (SIG) Webinar Series features researchers from CAIS Schools in Cohort 1 who completed their research in the 2021-2022 School Year. Researchers will explain their research process and outcomes, discuss how this innovation has affected their practice/school and share best practices. Following the presentation, questions and dialogue are encouraged from webinar participants.
Research Questions to be discussed in this webinar:
- How does implementing Sounds Write as Tier Two intervention in grades 1 and 2 improve reading skills (specifically phonological awareness and decoding skills) in identified at-risk students?
- After intervention occurs, which reading skills continue to lag? Which skills have improved?
- How does Sounds Write improve students’ academic self concept specifically related to reading?
- How can experiences with Sounds Write Tier 2 Intervention inform programmatic instruction for older students in the school who may require intervention?
