Learn to Make a Leather Pouch with Cassandra Gunkel, PhD

December 16 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm

Just the right size for carrying a cell phone and a few credit cards, you will stitch your own leather pouch with a soft strap. Through the generosity of our sponsor, AARP, you will receive a kit which includes soft leather hide and sinew to stitch. Included will be a fabric sample to start and learn techniques for leather. No experience necessary.

Cassandra Stancil Gunkel, PhD, is a folklorist, textile artist and expert in material culture. She has curated numerous exhibits of quilts and textile arts. As a Pennsylvania Council of the Arts Teaching Artist, she designs and delivers arts curriculum for K-12 and adult populations.
