Maybe you have a copy of Out of the Wilderness, which is a history of the City of North Port. But how much do you know about the environmental history of North Port? Join Jono Miller for a look at the backstory of first Township and a half (54 square miles) of what has become North Port. This will help you understand both the natural heritage and challenges of what has become one of the largest cities in Florida.
Jono Miller is a natural historian, environmental educator, and activist who has worked for half a century to understand and protect the wild places in Southwest Florida, including North Port. He has been studying North Port for about 35 years.
This is a virtual talk, hosted by The Environmental Conservancy of North Port and our guest moderator, Samantha Gentrup. Samantha is a Venice resident, school teacher, and co-founder of Hands Along the Water. We look forward to spending time with you.
