There’s A Zine For That!: An Introduction To Zine-Making & It’s Healing Potential

Join WomenShelter of Long Beach and zine maker Donald Collins @zineboyy for a Zine-Making Workshop during National Sexual Assault Awareness Month! This zine workshop will discuss the origin, purpose, and nature of analog and digital zine-making, with a particular emphasis on the healing benefits of creating zines. By the end the workshop, attendees will have a working knowledge of zine history, familiarity with the vast possibilities of zine content, and time to create a zine of their own! This workshop will also provide a downloadable resource of links to more zine tutorials, websites of interesting zine-makers, and a list of stores where you can find zines in-person in California (once safe)! This workshop is suitable for any kind of audience, and especially those who wish to learn more about the history of zines, make their own zines, and practice self-care!
