Developing Vivid Settings with Lana Orndorff
Tuesdays, Sept. 6, 13, 20 & 27
3:00pm – 4:30pm

Well-developed settings, including place, time, mood, and culture, are essential for helping readers feel grounded within a story. In this class, students will look at examples from literature and discuss the various elements that can be used to create rich, vivid settings. Writing prompts, homework assignments, and in-class journal time will give students opportunities to practice creating them for themselves. The class is for complete beginners, as well as experienced writers.

Paper and writing utensil or a computer with basic word processor.
