Zigzag Timber Sale Comment-Writing: Recreation Impacts
The Forest Service has just released the draft Environmental Assessment of the Zigzag Integrated Resource Project, a proposal that would end a 20-year respite from logging in the Zigzag Ranger District. If approved, this project would log areas of sensitive native forest on Mt. Hood including near popular recreation areas along Lolo Pass Rd, Trillium Lake & Old Maid Flat. This workshop will breakdown the impacts to recreation from the proposed activities and provide guidance to concerned members of the public about the process of commenting on a timber sale on federal land.
