Community Training: Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention: Best Practices for Behavioral Health and Social Services

Based on information gathered from Scott Poland’s 40 years of work in suicide prevention, this session provides an overview of foundational information needed to develop and promote competence in suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. This includes current statistics and information, guidelines for effective practice, and resources contained within the Florida School Toolkit for K-12 Educations to Prevent Suicide (S.T.E.P.S). Specific information for professionals working with children and adolescents in educational settings are discussed.
