This year our Pre Event for King County's Behavioral Health Legislative Forum will be virtual as well and held one week before the Forum. We are presenting a 90 minute condensed version of our Elevate Recovery Advocacy training.
Elevate Recovery Advocacy is our signature public policy and media engagement program. It is more than a training—it is the foundation of our statewide recovery movement.
We teach community members:
How to tell their recovery story in a way that drives change
The legislative process at different levels of government
How to persuade a policymaker
How to work with the media
How to take action and be part of the recovery movement
In partnership with our local recovery coalitions, we deliver 5- 6 Elevate Recovery Advocacy classes each year, training nearly 400 community members how to leverage their story and create needed change.
Attending our Elevate pre event is the perfect way tp get ready to interact with the lawmakers at legislative roundtable discussions, listen to guest speakers including Dow Constantine, King County Executive, hear King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division present their 2022 Legislative Priorities, watch recovery speakers from the community share their stories and our King County lawmakers speak about what behavioral health means to them and the work they are doing in this area.
Thank you for joining us for this special evening.
