Teaching Intro to Python 3 for Experienced CS Teachers

In this workshop, CodeHS Teacher Trainer Kent Pendleton will take a deep dive into the Intro to Python 3 course, exploring lessons and instructional strategies, using collaboration and the CodeHS Sandbox, and discover strategies to customize your Python lessons. In the second half of this workshop, teachers will also have interactive opportunities to discover additional CodeHS teacher resources, discuss blended learning strategies, or try out the curriculum. It is recommended that you have taught a class using the CodeHS platform for this workshop.

Kent earned an undergraduate degree in Physics and a Master's in engineering with an emphasis on computer modeling. Although he worked as a 'rocket scientist' for a short time at Sandia Laboratories, his real passion has always been teaching. He's been helping students achieve their goals in mathematics and computer science for over 30 years at Trinity Christian Academy in North Dallas, TX.
