CRI 'I Had No Idea' Speaker Series - An Exploration of Blockchain & Cryptocurrency with Jamie Chapman from Gemini
In the summer of 2020, CRI joined a relative handful of nonprofits nationally that are leading the way in accepting cryptocurrency as a donation. Learn about the world of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency in this interesting discussion with Jamie Chapman from our partner Gemini. We've all heard of the rise of Bitcoin, but the bedrock of Bitcoin is Blockchain. Learn more about them and how they are making an impact on our lives today. Gemini was founded by Harvard Oarsmen, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.

As a digital financial services product manager at Gemini, Jamie Chapman works to create elegant and secure cryptocurrency trading and investing experiences. She has led numerous teams through Gemini's rapid growth from small start-up to sophisticated international company of 375+ employees, and specializes in building financial products for both the mass retail market and asset managers. She recently launched Gemini Earn, a crypto lending and interest-earning program offering up to 7.4% APY. Her aim is to make complex financial services easy to use and understand.

Prior to joining Gemini, Jamie trained as a professional athlete on the United States National Rowing team based in Princeton, NJ with the goal of competing in the Olympics. She placed 4th in the 2016 Olympic Trials Double Sculls event and is a two-time Elite National Champion. She began her professional rowing career with the Craftsbury Green Racing Project in Craftsbury, VT and also competed for the Vesper Boat Club Elite team.

Jamie holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College, where she majored in Environmental Studies and captained the rowing team. She now races triathlons at the international level, hops in the Dartmouth Alumnae 8+ at the HoCR each year, and is an active volunteer with Row New York. She is now based in Traverse City, MI, where she gets outside to windsurf, hike, and ski.
