In this webinar, participants will learn how children are impacted by parental substance abuse
and the protective factors that reduce risk for children living with a parent/caretaker with
substance use disorder. The presenter will describe a general approach for supporting these
children in the school setting.
Sarah Dinklage, LICSW, CEO, Coastline EAP/RISAS, is the founding director of Rhode Island Student Assistance Services (RISAS)
established in 1986. She received an A.B. degree from Smith College and her master’s degree in
social work from Simmons College. Sarah oversees the implementation of student assistance
programs in RI and is recognized as a leader in the prevention field and in the delivery of school-
based mental health and substance use services for youth and their families.
