Jill Hurst-Wahl is going to facilitate this strategic planning Zoom retreat for the SCRLC Board and Advisory Committees. Our Plan of Service was approved by the State Library earlier in the month, and now we need to make it actionable. How do we make some of the goals SMARTer and how do we create SMART objectives (SMART=Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely) from them? You may also be able to apply what you learn to your own organization, while helping to create actionable committee objectives.
Jill Hurst-Wahl works with organizations to assure that they have the information they need to move forward. She is president of Hurst Associates, Ltd. and professor emerita in Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies. She is currently president of Onondaga County Public Library Board of Trustees and on the board for EveryLibrary Institute and Library Futures. Jill is a former member of the Special Libraries Association Board of Directors, the NYS Regents Advisory Council on Libraries, and the USNY Technology Policy and Practices Council.
Jill was awarded the John Cotton Dana Award at the end of June, The award, named for SLA’s founder and first president, is SLA’s highest honor.
