The Trap of Neutrality: Teaching During the Trump Years and Beyond
The highly polarized political climate during the Trump Presidency presented challenges to those of us in the classroom, challenges that are not going away soon. Three panelists will discuss their approaches to the way these challenges tested the default academic model of neutrality and impartiality. A certain model of neutrality may have always been a kind of trap but the recent crises to our democracy hand us an imperative to consciously articulate strategies to move beyond it.
