Webinar: Collective Singing as intangible cultural heritage
In the first part of the webinar, Silja Fischer (IFCM) will introduce us to the UNESCO definition and perspective on intangible cultural heritage and present some examples from the world of collective singing. In the second part, Jānis Ozols (International Baltic Sea Choir Competition) will talk about the Song Celebrations of the three Baltic States, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, as UNESCO Intangible Heritage, and in more detail Ieva Krivickaite (Lithuanian National Culture Centre) will introduce the Lithuanian Song Celebration, which will be marking its 100th anniversary in 2024. We will take a look at what constitutes the Celebration, learn about the relationship between the Celebration and Lithuania's Independence, and find out what is planned for 2024.
