Check Your Bias at the Door
The Jewish Leadership Academy and the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Hartford invite you to join us for a conversation on combating hate with Rav Tiferet Berenbaum, Rabbi of Congregational Learning and Programming at Temple Beth Zion in Brookline, Massachusetts. In this introductory session we’ll:

· Explore unconscious biases in a safe space
· Learn language and techniques we can use to combat hate as individuals
· Develop skills to lead change in our community and its institutions

About Our Facilitator:
Rav Tiferet Berenbaum is the Rabbi of Congregational Learning and Programming at Temple Beth Zion in Brookline, Massachusetts. A Covenant Foundation Pomegranate Prize nominee, she is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Lesley University. Throughout her career, she has had a front seat at the intersection of race, gender, and religion, giving her valuable insights into how different groups of people view the world and their role in it. Rav Tiferet received rabbinic ordination as well as a Master’s of Jewish Education from Hebrew College in Newton, Massachusetts. She formerly served as a senior rabbi and education director in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Mount Holly, New Jersey.
