In recognition of PRIDE month, APA Florida and its Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee invites you to attend Queer & The Conversation: Full Inclusion.
This session will help planners to be comfortable, capable, and mindful facilitators of diverse, interactive, and respectful community development that seeks benefits for all. In the process we will learn how to create safer, more civil communities for all individuals, particularly those of diverse sexualities and/or gender identities (such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual). This ethics course is based on “Safe Zone” training provided by the Center for Sexuality and Gender Diversity at the University of Kansas and is approved for 1.5 AICP CM Ethics credit.
The APA Florida Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee was created in 2019 to help develop a strategic diversity and inclusion plan for the Chapter. This plan was identified as a task in the member-adopted 2020 Strategic Operational Plan. Since that time, the committee added the concept of “equity”, as well as, diversity and inclusion, to their work efforts.
