This course examines the history, spiritual, conceptual (ethical and moral) and practical dimensions of reparations as a global movement. Recently the conversation around reparations for African Americans and Indigenous peoples are experiencing more attention than at any other time in U.S. history. Over a three day period, reparations scholars, activists and practitioners will share their experience and knowledge of reparations. Each session will explore seminal writings and experiences of the global reparations movement as well as offering embodied practices and possibilities for action.
Dr. David Ragland is the director of the Grassroots Reparations Campaign, a faculty member at Pacifica Graduate Institute, and Co-Founder of the Truth Telling Project.
