Calling all current museum studies undergraduate and graduate students! Join us on Friday, November 13 for an online networking event with fellow museum enthusiasts! Learn what networking is all about and practice getting to know fellow museum students in rapid-fire rounds of speed networking! Free, but registration is required (and limited to 100 participants). Presented in collaboration with the Institute of Museum Ethics at Seton Hall University and the department of Museum Studies at Baylor University. Sponsored and hosted by Purple Cow Career and talent Development. www.purplecowcareers.com
The event will start with an overview of what networking is and why it is important now more than ever. Then we will move into five rounds of 10-minute speed networking breakout rooms in which you will be paired randomly with other participants. During each 10-minute round, each partner will spend 3-5 minutes sharing a brief, compelling story about themselves: why museums as a career, something distinctive, relevant, and consistent about their skills and values, and something personally interesting. We encourage you to have fun, ask questions, make connections, and share contact information if you'd like. Every 10 minutes, we will switch rooms and start over again. The event will conclude with participants coming back together to share a few things they learned about each other (and themselves) during speed networking.
We look forward to a fun evening! Thanks for joining us!
