The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged and interrupted today’s food systems. The hardest hit are the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people. The COVID-19 pandemic serves as a wake-up call, pushing us to think differently and find new solutions to today’s challenges. It is a call for a transition towards resilient and inclusive food systems that are prepared for emergencies and that can provide food and nutrition for everyone within the planetary boundaries.
This opening session of the SIANI Annual Meeting 2021 will feature expert voices from the sector and explore what is needed for a food systems transformation that is inclusive and sustainable and aims to lift voices and perspectives often missed.
