Workplace Equity Congress 2023 - Elevating People, Strengthening Cultures (JOIN US NOW)

Since the gruesome murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, many organizations have made remarkable strides in diversifying their workforces by employing more people from minority and racialized groups. Some have even taken it a step further to ensure disadvantaged and underrepresented groups are no longer overlooked in internal promotions and recognitions. However, not many have made enough effort to ensure equal pay for equal work for those from minority ethnic groups women.

The fact that women, Black people, and other racialized employees are not equitably promoted to roles that could eventually position them to one day lead their companies or organizations demonstrates insufficient effort on the part of corporate and organizational leaders, regardless of how many minority individuals are employed within these organizations. Therefore, as we enter the third year of workplace evolution in the post George Floyd era, we invite those in positions of organizational leadership to join us, during this conference and in the future, to be empowered and learn how to elevate and provide advancement opportunities to their employees and strengthen their workplace and organizational culture.

According to one of the notable speakers, the Hon. Navdeep Bains, former federal of Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry and current Vice-Chair of Global Investment Banking for CIBC. In agreeing to be a key speaker at the CCIDWE conference Bains noted, “I look forward to taking part in this year’s Canadian Congress on Inclusive Diversity and Workplace Equity conference and reflecting on the important progress we have made as a country towards achieving greater equality. I know there is still much more to be done. We know that when different perspectives and unique experiences are brought to the table, we end up with stronger organizations and better outcomes.”
