Family Health History: Knowing which health conditions affect which family member, and at what age, can help individuals understand whether they may be at increased risk and, if necessary, take steps to reduce that risk. This session covers the importance of knowing family health history and gives participants tips for talking to their family. Family health history is often discussed in the context of hereditary cancers.
Here's a short bio for me: Becca Bakal is Program Manager of Health Education at the Norton & Elaine Sarnoff Center for Jewish Genetics. Becca earned her bachelor’s as well as her master’s in public health from Yale University. She has been with the Norton & Elaine Sarnoff Center for Jewish Genetics for three years.
