USA Track & Field New England 2+22 Program
2+22 Sleep and Recovery
Led by Kelsey Griffith, MS, a Performance Enhancement and Rehabilitation Specialist at Boston Children's Hospital's Micheli Center, and Sara Carpenito, MS, an Athletic Trainer and Injury Prevention Specialist, also at Boston Children's Hospital's Micheli Center, this presentation will address how to maximize both physical and mental recovery between practices and competitions for optimal performance. Topics covered will include the role of sleep in recovery and promoting good sleep practices, the role of periodization and planning training in recovery, balancing sport participation with other pursuits, and fostering a positive mindset between and during practices. This presentation is intended for high school and youth athletes as well as coaches and parents.
