Teaching Web Design Workshop

In this workshop, CodeHS Teacher Trainer Kent Pendleton helps teachers learn about the CodeHS Web Design course with an overview of the course and modules. Teachers will experience lessons from the student's perspective and have time for reflection and discussion on teaching strategies specific to the Web Design course topics. In the second half, teachers will learn about some of the tools on the CodeHS platform including code review, the CodeHS grade book, access controls, and how to add/create custom content. No prior CodeHS or computer science experience is required.

Kent earned an undergraduate degree in Physics and a Master's in engineering with an emphasis on computer modeling. Although he worked as a 'rocket scientist' for a short time at Sandia Laboratories, his real passion has always been teaching. He's been helping students achieve their goals in mathematics and computer science for over 30 years at Trinity Christian Academy in North Dallas, TX.
