Race, Equity & Cultural Humility in Your Work (Online Workshop)
As we are entering a new era of more diversity and equity in the Australian parliament than ever before, our efforts to tackle issues relating to racial equity and institutional racism and our commitment to walk alongside our First Nations leaders and communities in the pursuit of community-led change may indeed have more traction under new political leadership.

- What can our sector do to support the change we want to see?
- How can we tackle racial equity and institutional racism issues?
- What is the status quo on these issues in your community and in your organisation and what needs to change?

This online workshop on the topic of Racial Equity will be led by Dominique Day, who is the Chair of the United Nations Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent. Based in the USA, Dominique brings over 20 years of knowledge and experience to this topic of Racial Equity from her work with the United Nations, but also as a Human Rights Attorney and Executive Director of DAYLIGHT.

To put Dominique’s expertise into the Australian context, we have also invited two guest panelists, Jack Gibson (Community Development Worker at Butucarbin) and Catherine Madziva (Emerging Community Leader), who will share their experience and perspective on the topic.
