Midrash Braisheet

Midrash is an ancient commentary on part of the Hebrew scriptures, attached to the biblical text. The earliest Midrashim come from the 2nd century AD, although much of their content is older. Midrash Rabbah can refer to part of or the collective whole of specific aggadic midrashim on the books of the Torah and the Five Megilot, generally having the term "Rabbah" (רבה), meaning "great," as part of their name.

The aggadic midrash include commentaries, interpretations, stories that illustrate biblical passages, lectures and refers to non-legalistic exegetical texts in the classical rabbinic literature of Judaism.
