On a continuum from experimental use, to tragic fatal overdose, substance use by our youth is a complex reality. And while most of our youth do not use substances of abuse, for some, peer influences, social norms and their genetics conspire to create a profile that make it difficult for them to escape.
Join us for a candid conversation regarding youth substance use in our community.
Our program will begin with special guests Olga Davidov-Beirer and Scott Dupuy, parents of children who died by fatal overdose. Following their stories, ITC Executive Director Jerry Blackburn, M.Ed., SUDP, will explore the impact substances of abuse have on youth development and look at community prevention strategies we can all support. Finally, we will open the forum for a panel discussion, question and answer session.
